FUTURA since its inception in 2004, we continually strive to improve the quality and functionality of this series. Further, we expand our product range to meet the needs of our clients on an ongoing basis. Precision grinding and polishing of V2 quality stainless steel plus European design in combination with carefully selected teak fulfills all requirements of our demanding clientele. Note: Positioning of stainless steel furniture near acidic or chloride environments (next to a heavily chlorinated indoor pool for example) is not recommended as it may lead to surface rust.
FUTURA ULTRA Textilene (Batyline) is a very tearproof polyethylene fabric which expands slightly under pressure and warmth, but quickly returns to its normal physical condition. Textilene is usually clamped with tension onto a frame which is then assembled to a furniture frame. Material quality and careful workmanship are the main parameters affecting its lifetime. Some of our furniture has been constructed with flexible frames to allow customers to adjust tension of the Textilene or to be able to change it altogether, should it become damaged over time (Or, your partner prefers a different colour). Futura Ultra provides the ultimate in trend and design! Our well known Orion and Centauri Cantilever chair models offer the most modern material mix at highest achievable quality levels, combined with sophisticated technical features. A stainless steel frame lasting for decades carries a flexible and adjustable stainless steel frame into which a Textilene (Batyline) cloth is clamped. Should the Batyline cloth get loose it can easily be tightened with standard tools. It could also be easily exchanged and replaced with a new cloth in case of damage or staining. Note: Should a client wish a cloth in a new colour it can be ordered and exchanged any time. This justifies the higher initial investment compared to standard models, which is incurred by the higher cost of the flexible frame.
FLEXTEX Textilene in combination with Aluminium uses the advantageous properties of Textilene on the one hand, and provides the customer with the advantage of relatively low cost aluminium frames on the other. Cushions are not required. As a consequence, this mix is most suitable for hotel and commercial application. Regarding the material properties of Textilene, the same information is valid as stated in the section of our product range Futura Ultra.
CARBON high tech material mix, combined with low weight and functional, modern design: meeting the requirements of today. Easy-to-maintain materials in traditional rattan look. Polyethylene fabric RAUCORD® from the reputable plastics company Rehau is tear proof, resistant to water, ultraviolet radiation, and chemical exposure. It is colour- proof, environmentally friendly and easy to clean. Smouldering tests have proven that the material fulfils regulations for most indoor commercial use.
To increase quality and product life, all of our chairs are produced with the endless weaving technique instead of belt strapping (see pictures). This reduces the need to connect the straps to the frame and minimizes weak spots where the weave can get loose. All fabric ends are anchored to the frame and/or welded together where required. Most chairs are stackable, which many clients will appreciate during winter.
To increase product life, we recommend to keep woven furniture during longer periods of non-use or during winter out of direct sunlight. All plastics tend to loose plasticizers and get increasingly porous over time, a process that is accelerated by ultraviolet radiation. Most models are available in Java Brown and Honey colours.
SOLID TEAK For all those who like up-to-date design but prefer solid teak over the new material mixes, Matahari has created its classic Teak product line. It is characterised by the availability modular product lines (i.e. the corner bench system Artemis which is very flexible to fulfill anyones needs). All teak products are of high quality, machine made tenon and mortis construction for all connected parts to guarantee a long lifetime outdoors.
FUTURA CARBON high tech material mix, combined with low weight and functional, modern design: meeting the requirements of today. The furniture frame is made of stainless steel with practically no wear and tear over time. Opposite to aluminium frames, wherever possible, the beginning of the weaving string is inserted through a drilled hole into the metal frame to create a strong connection between frame and string and to prevent unwanted loosening of the weave, as a connection of frame and polyethylen string through nailing is not possible with stainless steel and carbon steel frames due to hardness of material. The ends of the weaving strings are welded together with other strings where required.
Smouldering tests have proven that the material fulfils regulations for most indoor commercial use. Most chairs are stackable, which many clients will appreciate during winter.
