Quality of finishing

All our pieces of furniture are mechanically executed. All the tenon-mortis connections are milled with special wood milling machines so that to obtain an exact joint as distance and depth of joining elements.

Different from the so called “manual work” through which these joints are produced by saw and drilling machines, more or less precise, machine made joints are very precise and the thin sticking ditch ensures an enormous catching force.

At the manually executed joints, the tenon-mortis connections usually show a small and short overlapping and tend to have a much bigger tolerance, which results is a less stable connection as most wood glues are efficient only when applied in thin layer.

Wood working, shrinking and swelling determined by our climate conditions thus destabilize any improperly manufactured joint and are the reason why only exact joints are durable.

Joints with wooden dowels

All the joints that are exposed to some additional weights and forces are reinforced by assembling dowels. This fact is important because teak is very difficult to glue due to the high content of fat.

Screws

Except the stainless steel series, we use exclusively brass screws that do not rust.
