Introduction of a standardized joining system for foldable furniture

Starting point of our development was the awareness of the fact that both our customers and our distributors suffered from the standard brass fittings supplied from Indonesia. We further noticed that complaints settlement was burdened by the multitude of various off-gauge bolts, which were constantly changing, and which could not be kept on stock as spare parts, thus we began to think of a standardized components solution which would render the vast variety of parts obsolete.

The system consists of a shell that has an inner thread on both sides, with different length dimensions (defined by the components to be joined) but form wise always constant. In this shell, standardized bolts are mounted into the threads from both sides, and bolts are provided with a kind of safety ring so that they  clamp to the thread and would not loosen by themselves.

By introducing this system, the complaints could be reduced visibly, as these shell systems are produced from industrial brass in the form of round bars, their durability quality level being more constant and predictable.
