Cleaning

It is recommended a thorough cleaning in spring and after a winter when the furniture stood in open air, in order to remove the deposits and fine particles of dust from the furniture. In the event that the furniture gets dirty in the meantime too, the same thing is recommended. The easiest cleaning is the one with the help of a brush and liquid soap, afterwards it is rinsed abundantly with water. In the case when the dirt layer is very big, a cleaning by emery rubbing (emery with a granulation of 120) can be performed.

In the cases when a cleaning equipment by pressure is used, it is recommended that a lower pressure is used in order not to cause mechanical surface damages.

If the furniture already has patina, and you want to lubricate the furniture, you should polish it first. Patina attacks only the surface layer and it can be easily removed with the usual equipment. The fact should be taken into account that the spaces between the boards can only be polished manually, which requires some time. If the oil layer is applied on the furniture that already has patina, then the layer gets a hue of dark grey and becomes bad looking (the light grey color of patina becomes grey-black).

Commerce also recommends the application of chemical products for patina removal, but our experience indicates the contrary. The problem with these products is that a removal in absolutely all intermediary spaces requires a very big effort and a big consumption of time. Usually the surface gets more rough if chemical products are used, too.
