Warranty and Claims Settlement

With time and experience we have learned that teak furniture will hold up in tough conditions for decades as long as the production process has focused on quality in all aspects of design and construction. We have also learned that another key factor is higher initial investment costs compared to cheaper products.

The common expression: “a cheap item will only be expensive in the long run” rings true with furniture as a seemingly low initial purchase price typically means that the quality of processing is inadequate for the intended use.  The end-user then has to go out and purchase again after a very short time.

The durability of teak firstly results from the natural characteristics of this tropical hardwood and, to a certain degree, is independent of the processing quality. As a rule, if properly kiln-dried and free of knots, badly processed teak wood can last as long as the perfectly processed one.  However, functionality has often been compromised due to "loose components" caused by poor joints and/or inadequate hardware.

If we set aside different wood quality classes, which of course are also applicable to teak, it is then the processing method which is of major importance.
